Default Why didn't anyone tell me Disgaea was coming to the DS?

I didn't even receive the NISA newsletter about it...

It's a port of the PSP "Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness", full with voice acting/cutscenes and all the extra content from the PSP version, with a map on the top screen during battle. The only "con" is slightly downgraded graphics.
I've also heard that the DS version will have more content than the PSP version... We'll have to wait and see.

The Magic Box - Disgaea DS Preview (Page 1 of 3)

Also, an interview:
Quote:
Disgaea DS Interview

Crispy Gamer: Is the DS version the same as the original Disgaea game? Will it feature any content from the PSP version?

Jack: Not only will the DS version have all the contents from the PSP version, it will have more, so there's quite a bit of game play. It's going to be one heck of a handheld game.

Crispy Gamer: Will the DS version support full voice acting and cutscenes from the original?

Jack: Yes, all the voiceovers and cut scenes of the original will be there.

For anyone who didn't play it before and has a DS, this will be a MUST BUY. I'm thinking of getting it as well.
(gamefaqs says it comes out July 2008)

****EDIT
Ah, just saw the news on gemaga... That went down fast...

I'm getting somewhat Disgaea'd out. I really like them, but SRPG's tend to stress me out. Each battle takes SO LONG. I don't have enough time to play all my games as it is... I still need to figure out a way not to work...lol.

Yup. I hear them Disgaea games are ridiculously long. I might still try them once I finish my other 12 or so games am currently playing, if I don't sell some first.

Well, Disgaea games are only ridiculously long if you make it so. If you just want to finish the main game, 20-30 hours, no more. If you're insane and really want to go through everything... well don't expect to have any other life than Disgaea, it can easily last hundreds of hours.

It took me 56 hours to beat the first game

My problem is that I get all obsessed with getting every little thing when I play a game. (For example, I've got some 60 hours logged in on Lost Odyssey and I'm not done yet...lol) I think that's why Disgaea games and all other SRPG's take too long for me.

that happened to me in FFX filling up everyones sphere grid took forever 150+ hours. Good thing i was able to get out of that mode or i would still be playing FF III

Yeah, when I was younger & stupider I would spend like 300+ hours on games like Phantasy Star Episodes I & II(Gamecube), leveling up my character and trying to get all the rare items(what was it, 1 out of 100-200 chances of getting some of them? lol!) on the hardest setting. Later on my data got corrupted btw........

I just checked my save on my game.
I played for 53 hours for now and finished it 3 times. My Laharl is currently level 261 and i'm currently trying to level my other characters (the closest to laharl is level 99).
The only way it could take you that long to finish the game is if you started leveling a lot, or doing side-quests or something.
