Idea for game info consolidation

So my roommate has been playing baroque for the past day or so, and we've had alot of trouble finding reliable information on how some weapons/items/ etc. work. In the early release stages when gamefaqs doesnt have many faqs or things, we have to rely on forums for info. but the gamefaqs, ign, and gamespot forums are very (VERY) badly organized and set up, which got me and my friend thinking. How difficult would it be to set up a wiki style site for games, so that anyone with info could add things?

I dont have much knowledge in the area, but if people could edit item lists, enemy lists, weapon stats, any little bit of information that would save people time, I think it would be a great place to get info. If you (gamer) could somehow work it into one of these sites, I'm sure it would become a hit, provided we keep an eye out for the usual spammers and trolls.

I've seem game specific wikis before, but they're mainly for very very popular games. I'm also not sure what is involved in setting something up like that, so it may not be viable.

That's a great idea. The thing is it needs LOTS of support and LOTS of mods. I could set a wiki up tho.

yea, I realized that after I posted. I figure if we advertise gamefaqs and gamespot that theres a wiki style way of doing things, hopefully we can get a following.
