Diablo 3 has been announced

The gameplay video on the diablo 3 website is awesome.

Lots of enhancements have been made to the Diablo 2 engine, making the game slightly more action-oriented. The 3D looks pretty awesome and it looks like it will age well(just like the Diablo 2 graphics). The new class Witch Doctor looks great(ZOMG zombie wall) and the Barbarian seems a lot less useless than in D2.

I definitely can't wait, being the Diablo fanboy i am.

Diablo and Diablo II were the games that really introduced me to computer gaming. I only played Playstation and Super Nintendo before that. I watched the videos and immediately started drooling. I can't wait! Probably not coming out any time soon, though. =( Still, it seems that with the increased revenue that Blizzard has is helping them have more resources to bring out more games in a more timely manner. I just remember the good old days of Blizzard games coming out when they were damned well good and ready. Not a minute sooner. I don't want them to release this half-baked, though. They can take all the time they need. Hell, they've been keeping us waiting for years. What's a couple more?

Yeah, we've been waiting a long time for this, considering diablo 2 came out 8 years ago (oh shit, i've been playing diablo 2 since i was 12/13 and i STILL like it, now that's surprising). But Diablo/Diablo 2 were incredibly fun games, and they were great because the development team didn't rush the job and made both of them as good as they could(at least back then) and Diablo 3 should be no different.

When asked for the release date, Blizzard says this:

So yeah, no doubt they'll make it as great as they possibly can. As long as it doesn't take too long to make *coughdukenukemforevercough* I don't mind waiting, because i know D3 will be damn awesome.

The one thing that relieves me is that they didn't make it an MMORPG. Sure, it would have been stupid to make an MMO that would have competed with their own smash hit WoW, but still for some reason i feared D3 could have been an MMO. Happy to see that fear never came true

I agree with every point stated above. I think Flagship tried to take what Diablo was and turn it into an MMO, and that didnt work out too well.

I was wondering how they're gonna integrate the new classes into the mix, since what I saw of the witch doctor was that in was kind of a mix of fire sorceress and a curse necromancer. I have no doubt they'll do a good job, but it's gonna start gettin crowded in that loadup screen.
