Any Other Games?

Okay, so besides Mario Kart and GTA IV, I'm feeling like there's nothing out right now that's all that great. I'm not interested in anything lately. Anyone else feeling like the world is revolving around GTA IV and the rest of us are getting left out? It's probably just me... ><;

I heard Boom Blox was good. I've been meaning to get it but I've been busy. I've also gotten sucked into an MMORTS (saga to be specific), in which I'm trying to get the most power out of with no cash input. It's hard, but it's possible.

I'm getting castle of shikigami 3 on the Wii in a few days, but that's just me and my love of shmups.
There's Persona 3: FES that just came out which should be pretty good(haven't got to playing it yet, gotta finish SMT: Nocturne first...maybe).
Arcana Heart is pretty fun (it's very technical though... not the easiest fighter to play...).
I heard good things about boom blox, but after watching videos, i can't say it really interests me.
Otherwise there's the world ends with you on the DS which is quite fun. Mana Khemia that came out a few weeks ago is also pretty good. It takes a little while to actually start, but when you reach like the third chapter it gets quite interesting. There's also Okami on the Wii if you missed the PS2 version.
Next month MGS4 comes out and should be pretty awesome(i won't play it because i suck at MGS games, but i know it's gonna be good anyways). And there's Ninja Gaiden 2 on the 360 as well.
The metal gear online beta just started too... I don't have a PS3 yet, but i saw my friend play and, while not perfect(CQC sucks, some commands with the triangle button have trouble working) it seems to have a lot of potential.

Although Mario Kart and GTAIV are the talk of the hour, there's some other good stuff. And there's always older games if more recent ones don't interest you.

Mario Kart is kinda disapointing... It's good, but they screwed up some things, like the damn rubberband AI(cheapest EVER... My friend told be in 2 races he got 7 blue shells thrown at him... How stupid is that?) and some items are broken as hell, like the bullet bill.
I haven't played GTAIV yet, but seems to me like it's GTA3 but more realistic and with online play(which looks pretty cool)... am i wrong?

I've been playing Wild ARMs Advanced 3rd, Lost Odyssey, and Phantasy Star Online...

I have this incredibly long list of games that I've never finished, so that's the reason for WA3.

I'm savoring Lost Odyssey because I'm loving it so much and don't really want it to end. I'm trying to get EVERYTHING. All the side quests, optional bosses, etc. Master all the skills...

And I play PSO to put myself to sleep at night when I'm having trouble sleeping. Something about doing the same shit over and over and over again while lying in bed cuddled up with my moogles... I want to go home and take a nap now...lol.

I've also been playing GTA IV vicariously. I tried it, but OMG, HOW THE HELL DO YOU DRIVE THIS IS GAME?!?!?!?! The rest of it is lots of fun, though, but I can't drive. So my son has been playing it while I watch and provide "back seat driver" type suggestions. I'm really enjoying it. The main character has depth and personality. There are moral choices. It's like playing a RPG. I kinda feel sorry for my son, though, since I made him take the character to a strip club (and a private dance) and pick up a prostitute (and paid the $70). My son has more fun shooting, fighting, and whatever than picking up whores, I guess. /shrug I was disappointed. I expected worse from a game that the media frenzy is calling pornography. I was sitting on the couch saying, "What the fuck? I want to see titties! We're paying for a private dance and she's got PASTIES on! I want to see titties!" My son was cracking up and he said, "Oh my gosh, mom... I wish my friends from school were here. They'd be like OMG..." In any case, I only get to "play" GTA IV this way on the weekends when there's no school and no homework.

I had read about Boom Blox, but I, too, wasn't interested after watching videos of it. I suck at MSG games, but I'll be "playing" that one vicariously through my son, as well. Thankfully, he's got skillz... (When he plays RPG's and is stuck or needs boss fighting strategies, I return the favor.) The World Ends With You was too complicated for me. That two screens at the same time thing screwed me up. My son's loving it, though. I think I'm on Chapter 2 of Mana Khemia, so maybe I'll pick that up again. Haven't touched it in awhile...

I'm gonna go check out the import game store after work today, too. Maybe I'll find something to tickle my fancy there. I'll let you guys know.

Bleach: Heat the Soul 5 sounds pretty nice. I've only got a chance to play the second one on a friend's friend's PSP, and didn't get to experience much of it. It seemed relatively well done.

As for other imports, i don't see much of interest that are upcoming(at least on systems i can play imports on... DS, PSP and PS2... although i'm not sure if my PS2 fares well with imports anymore). If i could read japanese then obviously there's a few RPGs and such on the way i'd like to play (Dragon Quest 5, Mana Khemia 2, Bleach 3rd on the Ds(strangely a Strategy RPG instead of a fighting game like the rest in the series), some Higurashi game, and a couple of other random things).

And no, no Wii freeloader here. I almost decided to get one to play Brawl earlier, but decided that it was stupid.

It seems to be a slow time for games right now. Even in Japan. Maybe because of Golden Week?

I picked up my Wii Fit today. Posted about it on Gemaga... I'm so out of shape lol.
